Aruba memories
With one week left before I hop on a plane to Aruba, I thought I'd share a few Aruba memories. From a poker standpoint I don't have much to talk about considering in 5 tries I have yet to cash the main event at the Aruba poker Classic. I'm hoping this year will be the one.
For me, Aruba is so much more than a poker tournament. It's a chance to getaway to one of the most beautiful places in the world with my wife every year. It's a chance to see all the familiar faces I now call friends thanks to the Aruba poker classic. It's a time to basically do nothing for 10 days. Some of my favorite memories involve simply the time spent with this group of friends at dinners, or by the pool, or the drunken late night 1/2 no limit cash game. This is what I look forward to.
After all, the Aruba poker classic is the reason I started playing poker in the first place. A little over 6 years ago I saw it televised on the travel channel. I thought to myself, what could be better? So of course I downloaded Ultimatebet , and took a few shots at trying to win a package. In my second time trying I completely lucked out and overcame an 8-1 chip deficit heads up to win my trip. When I look back at my successes in poker this one always stands out to me, and puts a smile on my face every time I think about it. The moment where I told my wife, honey, if this hand holds up we are going to Aruba.
So heading to Aruba for the 6th time next week, one might say that it's going to be the same vacation that I've already done. My answer to that would be.I hope so!
