Hollywood Park Casino Bad Beat
This story happened to me on one of the many tournaments I go to in Hollywood Park Casino, usually I don't get many cards to play on this tourneys so I try to play as tied as possible. Anyways two hours or so into the tournament I was holding my own and have lasted longer than my two buddies so I was feeling pretty good, so as I look down into my cards I see a couple of ducks and with no raises in front of me I call the blind, with 4 players on the hand the flop comes 4,3,5.
Now I am feeling pretty good with my ducks and a possible and likeable wheel if an ace hits which in my mind is very likely so I call a small bet from a player in front of me. now that I look back I should have raise but I called, the turn gave another duck which made me trips and still feeling good, a little scared of somebody holding a ace as their were 3 players in the hand now including myself, so the player ahead of again bets a little less than half the pot so I call and now its heads up when the river brings me my fourth duck, jackpot I have him and he has been betting all the way so I just waiting for my prey to stick he's head in, which he does betting about two times the pot which puts me all in, so with a with a victory tone I said nutty I call and show my quads, now wait a minute, by the way my prey was not a he but a she.
Well she was not mucking and turns up aces five of spades and I’m like good give me the pot not realizing that the board had a 2 of spades and a 3 of spades and yeah you guess it a 4 of dam spades. I was crushed and it took me a couple of months to get back to any tournament in that crappy casino, well that’s my bad beat story and believe me I don't think I will ever get over that one
